Magnus August Høiberg, performing as Cashmere Cat, produces downtempo and abstract electronic music while also working as a turntablist and hails originally from Halden, Norway. Between 2006 and 2009 he competed for Norway at the DMC World DJ Championship under the name Final. Shifting focus toward studio work, he created productions and remixes that included Wildchild of Lootpack on the track “Stuck in Norway” along with Final versions of material by Classixx and Jaga Jazzist. Wider attention arrived during 2012 and 2013 through remixes and edits for Lana Del Rey, Jeremih, 2 Chainz, and Miguel. His own material surfaced as the Mirror Maru EP on Pelican Fly, while Glasgow’s LuckyMe imprint issued his 2013 EP Wedding Bells. The next year brought a guest spot on Ludacris’ single “Party Girls.” Cashmere Cat’s first full-length project, Wild Love, appeared in 2017 and contained the single “Adore” with Ariana Grande plus additional contributions from Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, 2 Chainz, and further artists. “Miss You,” featuring Major Lazer and Tory Lanez, came out as a single in January 2018. August 2019 saw the standalone track “Emotions” precede the September arrival of the album Princess Catgirl.
