Devil You Know emerged in 2012 when Devolved drummer John Sankey joined forces with All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato to assemble a metalcore supergroup headquartered in Los Angeles, California. After bringing former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones into the fold, the trio entered the studio to lay down their first full-length record. Once that album was completed, the band secured a deal with Nuclear Blast and, anticipating an extensive touring schedule, added guitarist Roy Lev-Ari and bassist Ryan Wombacher to complete the lineup. Their melodic metalcore approach surfaced publicly in 2014 via the album The Beauty of Destruction. The follow-up studio effort, They Bleed Red, arrived in late 2015. Legal complications surrounding John Sankey’s exit prompted an announcement in 2017 that the group would adopt a fresh name. Welcoming drummer Mike Sciulara of Extinction A.D., the rebranded Light the Torch issued Revival in March 2018.
