Biography
In the final months of 1997, Jason Blachowicz, who handled bass and vocals, assembled Divine Intervention with Derik Roddy on drums and J.P. Soars on guitar and vocals after tiring of repeated personnel shifts and internal strife in his prior outfit, Malevolent Creation. Because all three musicians had previously spent time in Malevolent Creation, the new endeavor immediately carried weight within the Florida death metal community and soon secured a contract with Olympic Recordings. Their debut full-length album, Redemption, appeared in early 1999, while Doomed to Inherit followed two years afterward.
