Washington, D.C. native Dreamcastmoe blends an eclectic assortment of influences into his relaxed, meandering compositions, drawing from classic R&B, recollections of FM radio quiet storm broadcasts, smooth funk and soul essences, and subtle distorted hip-hop variations. He first issued original material in 2017 and later signed with Spectral Sound, a Ghostly sublabel, to deliver the 2022 project Sound Is Like Water.

Born Davon Bryant-Mason, the artist absorbed the auditory, visual, and affective currents of his hometown while growing up in Washington, D.C. As a producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, he began sharing tracks under the name Dreamcast around 2017, including the aquatic, FM synth-driven R&B pieces “Floral Place” and “Liquid Deep” on the People’s Potential Unlimited label. Those standalone releases paved the way for his first full-length effort, 2018’s The Lost Tapes, Vol. 2, which fused live instrumentation with deep electronic production. After additional singles and short-lived projects, along with adopting the Dreamcastmoe name, Bryant-Mason joined Ghostly in 2022 and issued Sound Is Like Water on the label that November.
