Edén Muñoz entered the world in 1990 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. Working as a singer, songwriter, producer, and accordionist, he has devoted himself to Mexican regional music. He had already turned professional while still in his teens, and in 2006 he became part of Colmillo Norteño, a group tied to the norteño-banda sound. As the band’s lead vocalist, he appeared on three of their albums. In 2010 he created Calibre 50, an act that quickly ranked among the decade’s most prominent in the genre, issuing close to twenty studio and live albums while earning multiple awards. During those same years he also emerged as a highly sought composer for other acts, among them Julión Álvarez, Banda MS, and La Arrolladora Banda El Limón. After serving as singer, producer, and principal songwriter for most of Calibre 50’s repertoire, Muñoz moved forward with a solo career, beginning it in June 2022 through the live album La Historia Debe Continuar. His first solo studio effort, Consejos Gratis, followed a few months later. Como en Los Viejos Tiempos appeared in December 2023.
