El Hitta

Chicago rapper El Hitta delivers aggressive verses through an off-key sing-song delivery and consistent rhythmic flow more reminiscent of Mystikal and DMX from the 1990s than the trap-oriented productions dominating the late 2010s. His official full-length debut arrived in 2018 under the title Owe Nobody Nothin, which included the hit single "Gang Nem."

Active as an MC since his teenage years, the artist then known as El Hitla drew inspiration from Chicago peers G Herbo and Lil Durk. After serving time in prison he returned with renewed determination to pursue rap professionally. Initial releases such as "Because," "Hitla Style," and "We Outside" built underground support in his hometown, yet the introspective, piano-driven track "Aww Yea" became his most widely recognized work. Extending that momentum, he released the high-energy track "Gang Nem" alongside Prince Dee; the song later appeared on the 2018 album Owe Nobody Nothin issued via Groovy Gang/Dub Life.
