Falls

Falls comprise the Australian duo Melinda Kirwin and Simon Rudston-Brown, whose warm vocal harmonies shape an intimate yet catchy strain of indie folk. After their romantic relationship ended, the pair formed in the early 2010s and began performing together during a recurring hotel engagement in Sydney. Their reputation grew, securing support slots on Australian tours with the Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men. The duo signed to Verve Records just before issuing their debut EP, 2014’s Into the Fire, then relocated to the U.S. and maintained a busy touring schedule that encompassed festival dates at Bumbershoot, CMJ, and South by Southwest. That winter they completed their first full-length in Omaha, Nebraska, working with producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, She & Him, Jenny Lewis). Further road work occupied 2015, including summer festival appearances at Bonnaroo and Firefly ahead of the October arrival of Omaha.
