Biography
Emerging from Atlanta, Georgia, the five-piece post-hardcore group Favorite Weapon formed in the wake of Rise Records act Woe, Is Me's dissolution, with some observers regarding it as a direct continuation. Its roster features ex-Woe, Is Me frontman vocalist Hance Alligood, guitarists Alex Heroes and Andi Encinas, bassist Robbie Buisson, and drummer Kortney Grinwis. The shift triggered online controversy after Woe, Is Me's Facebook page was abruptly rebranded to Favorite Weapon, instantly handing the new band more than 80,000 followers, many of whom initially had no idea who Favorite Weapon was. Remaining with Rise Records, the band put out its debut album, Sixty Saragossa, in 2014; Tom Denney recorded and produced the set, which was fronted by the first single "Hollow."
