Fekky emerged from South London as a grime MC whose rapid, garage-infused hip-hop carries uncompromising, defiant, and scathing lyrics. He first surfaced in 2011 after recording initial ideas with friends and releasing the track “Ring Ring Trap” alongside an accompanying online video that quickly accumulated roughly 10,000 views within days. Momentum built immediately when he followed with “Fire in the Booth,” drawing a wider audience. Rather than pause, he launched small-scale tours across the United Kingdom, steadily widening his reach. Emphasizing that grime remains rooted in everyday realities rather than ostentatious display, he observed that “grime is tracksuits, it’s not Rolexes,” an outlook many welcomed for its candid tone. Further visibility arrived in 2014 when the Game selected him as an opener for the U.S. rapper’s British dates. The following year brought heightened attention inside the U.K. urban scene: Fekky reworked Dizzee Rascal’s Boy in Da Corner selection “Sittin’ Here,” prompting Dizzee to supply a verse that expanded into the full reworking “Still Sittin’ Here.” He also joined Skepta for the widely embraced “Way Too Much.” Live performances accelerated early in 2015 when Fekky joined Kanye West and additional grime artists to deliver West’s “All Day” at the BRIT Awards; later that summer he appeared at the Royal Albert Hall’s Grime Symphony and made his first appearances at Reading & Leeds Festivals plus BBC 1Xtra Live at Leeds’ First Direct Arena. His debut mixtape, Brandy and Coke, arrived in December 2015, after which he spent 2016 preparing his first studio album. That project, El Clasico, surfaced through Island Records in June 2017.
