Biography
George Simon Stanford, recognized as a singer and songwriter, refined his abilities while enrolled at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Although the trombone represented his earliest passion, the multi-instrumentalist exited his studies before finishing to join the eclectic Philly rock act Townhall on the road, an alliance that extended across five years. In 2006 he collected his material, resigned from his laundromat position, and relocated to Los Angeles, where a recording contract with Epic materialized within weeks of his arrival. The soulful singer transferred to Smash/Mercury Records the next year, returned to his native Philadelphia, and issued his debut album, Big Drop, in June 2008.
