Biography
Ghoulunatics came together in Quebec, Canada, during 1994. Unlike their more technically oriented fellow Quebecois acts such as Cryptopsy and Kataklysm, the group cultivated a relaxed “horror groove” variant of death metal whose lyrics lean toward lighthearted irreverence. The band’s largely self-issued discography comprises Mystralengine (1996), Carving into You (1998), King of the Undead (2001), the pair of 2004 releases It’s a Live! and Sabacthany, and Cryogénie (2006). Blood Curdling Years, a DVD collection, appeared in 2005, while the current roster lists vocalist Patrick Mireault, guitarists Francis Dubois and Patrick Gordon, bassist Gary Lyons, and drummer Brian Craig.
