Gianluca Grignani

Born in Milan in 1972, Italian pop artist Gianluca Grignani grew up under his mother's care and picked up the guitar thanks to his uncle, soon channeling those lessons into original material composed alone in his bedroom. At seventeen he headed to London, where he forged ties with assorted musicians before heading back to Italy some years afterward. A strong showing at the festival of Sanremo earned him a recording agreement, which led to the release of Destinazione Paradiso in 1995. Fabrica Di Plastica followed the next year, succeeded in 1998 by Campi Di Popcorn.
