Biography
Operating under the name Golden Vessel, Australian producer Max Byrne crafts reflective, somber downtempo electro-pop shaped by influences such as James Blake, Bonobo, and Glass Animals. Guest vocalists appear on most of his tracks, among them fellow Australians Caleb Hodges of the Art of Sleeping and Lastlings. Golden Vessel's debut single "Stairwell" earned spins on the Australian station Triple J as soon as Byrne submitted it. Three singles arrived in 2015: "Control," "Borrowed Time," and "Can't Stay." The year 2016 proved his most substantial to that point, bringing both the Before Sleep EP and an Australia-wide tour. The next year saw the single "Tell the-Girl" featuring Emerson Leif, which landed on the Right/Side EP. After stepping away from shorter releases, he put out three singles in 2018, among them "Hesitate" and "Moonstone."
