Hannah Jane Lewis

U.K. singer-songwriter Hannah Jane Lewis first drew widespread streaming attention in 2017 through her buoyant electro-pop track “Raincheck.” While her initial releases blended polished pop textures with atmospheric EDM elements, her 2019 debut EP, Hannah Jane Lewis, shifted toward buoyant, romance-focused material.

Born in England, Lewis absorbed American pop during her Florida high-school years. She later pursued music studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, then returned home to begin her recording career. Although “Why Start a War” marked her first single in April 2016, it was her third release, the 2017 track “Raincheck,” that achieved viral traction. Subsequent singles such as 2018’s “Aftershock” preceded her featured appearance on Hight’s mid-2018 cut “I’m with You”; a DAZZ remix of that collaboration accumulated millions of streams within months of its December rollout. The EP Hannah Jane Lewis appeared on her independent HJL Records label the following April.
