Biography
Haydn Hubers, who records under the name Hayd, works from Michigan as a singer, songwriter, and producer whose work centers on rich piano-based pop pieces and luminous vocal lines. Viral attention arrived in 2019 through widely streamed cuts such as “October Snow” and “Superhero,” after which he joined the Proximity roster; the label subsequently issued further singles including “Changes” and the affecting 2021 track “Closure.”
A Muskegon native situated on the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan, Hubers began composing and tracking material during his high-school years. His skill at shaping buoyant melodies and spare, electronically tinted productions earned early traction on streaming services. His first official single, the expansive “Vacant Eyes,” appeared in 2019, and by the close of that year the same platforms had accumulated millions of plays for it along with “Superhero” and “October Snow.” Proximity, an EDM-centered imprint that had lately entered the Interscope fold, added him to its roster. The resulting visibility carried the 2020 song “Changes” to a larger audience, which he extended in the opening months of 2021 with “Closure.”
