Twelve-piece Swedish ska-punk outfit Hoffmaestro first attracted widespread attention in 2005 after writing and directing the independent film Stockholm Boogie while also composing its entire soundtrack. The movie quickly developed a devoted following, and the track “Desperado” emerged as a standout success. Blending ska, punk, country, New Orleans influences, and electronica, the group resists easy classification, yet has steadily earned acclaim as a leading party band through its elaborate, high-energy stage performances. Operating as Hoffmaestro & Chraa, the ensemble secured a deal with Warner Bros. in Sweden and issued several singles that paved the way for the 2008 album The Storm. Two years afterward, the follow-up LP Skank-a-tronic Punkadelica appeared under the Hoffmaestro moniker alone, allowing the band to expand its European fanbase by cultivating direct engagement via social media and embracing a distinctly D.I.Y. approach. The group achieved its American debut in 2014 by partnering with Los Angeles-based Side One Dummy to unveil the self-titled third album.
