Biography
Isaiah Templeton first entered the upper tier of Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart in 2014 via his debut full-length, Roll in the Dirt, and thereafter sustained partnerships with other contemporary gospel performers while holding a worship-leader post in Charlotte, North Carolina. Solo activity resumed four years later with the single “Everything Will Be Alright,” a vehicle for his expansive vocal style.
Springfield, Massachusetts, is his birthplace, though he grew up chiefly in Dayton, Ohio and completed his undergraduate studies at Wright State University nearby. Initial stage and studio work found him alongside Mark T. Jackson, Rodney Posey, Pastor R.A. Vernon, Kommitted Music Group, and One Voice; his independent debut, the self-released Roll in the Dirt, arrived in 2014 and climbed to number 25 on the Billboard Gospel Albums list that September—the same week another supporter, Smokie Norful, occupied the summit. Subsequent joint projects with Terrence J. Dooley, Travis Greene, and additional artists preceded the 2018 single “Everything Will Be Alright,” issued after Templeton had become worship leader at Have Life Church in his adopted city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
