Biography
Among the obscure figures in British punk history stands Jabberwock, a group whose sole appearance came via a 45 rpm release on the prominent MCA label during the first months of 1977. Titled "Sneakin' Snaky"/"Fortune Teller," this record marked their only output before vanishing entirely from the scene. The songwriting attributions on that single list Messrs. Reeves, Vandekleut, Harrison, and Jennings as the contributors, leading to the widespread view that these individuals were studio players experimenting with punk aesthetics. Their delivery features an authentic snarl reminiscent of the era following the Sex Pistols, although the guitar solo deviates from that raw style in a noticeable way.
