Biography
Jacinta Brondgeest entered the world in Oregon, yet her family shifted to Sydney, Australia when she was just six weeks old. Following a stretch of band work, she opted in 1997 to pursue a solo path under her own name, composing and delivering original dance tracks across Australia. She later founded the independent imprint Chunky Music, which issued her debut full-length Sandalwood: Under the Influence in 2000. Airplay for the single “Wonderland” on Australian stations secured her a songwriting role on the Australian/Canadian children’s series The Saddle Club. After relocating to Austin, TX, in search of wider opportunities, she released her follow-up album Smokescreen in 2005; its opening track “Sunshine” spawned a separate collection of remixes that same year. Destination arrived in 2006.
