Biography
In 1969 the British ensemble Jasper issued their album Liberation, an oddly uneven and rather lackluster affair. This loosely assembled set leaned heavily on casual blues-rock that at times evoked a diminished counterpart to John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers across both their straight blues-rock outings and their jazz-tinged blues-rock explorations, punctuated by peculiar restatements of the classical motif “Liberation.”
