Biography
Jens Unmack, born April 26, 1964, first rose to prominence as the Danish singer and songwriter in the critically acclaimed alternative rock band Love Shop, whose formation he helped initiate in Copenhagen during 1986 alongside Hilmer Hassig, Henrik Hall, and Mikael Dehn. The group issued its debut album, 1990, in 1990, then followed with DK (1992), Billeder Af Verden (1994), Go! (1997), and Det Løse Liv (1999). Entering the new millennium, Love Shop achieved two further Top Ten releases, Anti (2001) and National (2003), before dissolving in 2004, the same year the retrospective compilation Sendt Fra Himlen 1990-2004 reached the Top Five. Unmack launched his solo career in 2005 with the Top Five album Vejen Hjem Fra Rocknroll, produced by Nikolaj Nørlund. He continued the partnership on Aftenland Express (2007) and Dagene Løber Som Heste (2009), both of which likewise performed strongly on the charts.
