Jensen Sportag’s hazy, unconventional bedroom R&B was created by a pair who spent their early years on adjacent farms in the small town of Cottontown, Tennessee. Austin Wilkinson and Elvis Craig began collaborating on music while still in high school, yet higher education drew them apart until both settled in Nashville during the mid-2000s and resumed serious recording. Their first projects were an untitled 2006 album featuring vocals by Ariel Pink and the Sergio EP released in 2008. Cascine Records noticed these recordings, resulting in the label’s 2011 release of their debut EP, Pure Wet. Following a two-year break and a shift toward smoother textures, the duo reemerged with the outstanding 2013 album Stealth of Days.
