Jimmy Van M

The late-'90s invitation from Sasha and Digweed to open their Twilo residency in New York provided a major lift to Jimmy Van M's professional trajectory. Prior to that opportunity, he had established himself in Orlando, FL, after first encountering progressive house during the early '90s. Guest spots at the Beacham Theater in Orlando began for him by early 1992, where he performed alongside trailblazing American trance DJs like Kimball Collins. His standing continued to rise throughout the trance-enthusiastic Florida scene, prompting him to establish Balance Promote Group as a booking agency specializing in leading European trance DJs. Those associations proved instrumental in advancing his career significantly. Ministry of Sound put out Trance Nation America in mid-2000, a compilation CD that included both Taylor and Van M. Productions from Van M started surfacing on various mix compilations during this period, one notable example being the Communicate album from Sasha and Digweed.
