Biography
Jon Waltz, the Memphis, Tennessee rapper and producer, first drew notice in 2013 at age 17 with his debut single “Bang (Left My Home).” Its relaxed, narcotic beats and introspective lyrics established the direction his music would follow for several years afterward. Later that year he issued the Airways Blvd. EP and joined forces with Skizzy Mars. Over time he gravitated toward a pop/R&B approach, heard on the 2015 single “Anna” and the lean, minimally arranged “Riot” in 2016. Still in his late teens and enrolled in college, he set music aside to concentrate on his studies until resurfacing in early 2018 with the propulsive track “Backstreets.”
