Emerging from Los Angeles, R&B performer K. Roosevelt crafts tracks that balance a laid-back mood with intense emotion. He first appeared on the charts via the fervent 2013 collaboration "Do Me Now" alongside Hit-Boy, then issued his debut full-length Neon Haze on Interscope in 2016. After a period under his second major-label home Def Jam, he began self-releasing material that grew funkier while retaining atmospheric qualities, among them the Bloom EP in 2019 and the album Solstice in 2022. Additional releases in his supporting catalog feature leading turns from Jhené Aiko, the Game, M.I.A., and Rapsody.

Born Kevin Roosevelt Moore II in L.A. as the offspring of celebrated blues figure Keb' Mo', he began drumming before expanding into beatmaking, piano, guitar, and songwriting. Early prominent placements arrived in 2011 and 2012, highlighted by his vocal hooks on Jhené Aiko's "Real Now" and the Game's "Can't Get Right." The 2013 mixtape RoseGold, his initial project under the K. Roosevelt name, spawned "Do Me Now," which reached Billboard's Rhythmic Airplay chart. That same year he also appeared on recordings by M.I.A. and YG. Further progress followed through ongoing work with producer Hit-Boy, leading to an Interscope solo contract and the release of Neon Haze in 2016.

Stepping back from the spotlight, he composed material for Guordan Banks and Jesse Boykins III before returning in 2018 on Def Jam with a self-titled EP centered on dense, heady grooves. Operating independently thereafter, he delivered Bloom in 2019 and Solstice three years later, with an appearance on Rapsody's "Maya" falling between those projects.
