Jypsi

The Nashville outfit Jypsi blends a soulful country sound with retro chic attire, drawing influences that stretch from Alison Krauss across to alt-rock territory. Four siblings in the Rische family—Lillie Mae, Frank, Scarlett, and Amber-Dawn—form the group. After spending years traveling to perform at festivals and showcases, the band secured a steady performance slot at Nashville's renowned Lower Broadway venue starting in 2003. Audiences there enjoyed their mix of classic country harmonies and youthful energy across six nights weekly throughout the following three years, at which point RCA Nashville offered them a recording contract. Working alongside Blake Chancey, who had previously produced for the Dixie Chicks, the siblings devoted the bulk of 2007 to crafting their first album. As the year drew to a close, their track "Love Is a Drug" reached country radio and appeared for purchase across multiple digital music platforms.
