Biography
Shortly after finishing high school, Kim Syms relocated to California and launched her path as a vocalist and dance club performer by serving as a background singer at Motown Records. Her commanding voice also appeared across multiple commercials, among them advertising spots for McDonalds and Doublemint gum. She soon shifted focus to her own recordings, achieving dance success in the U.K. through the singles "Take My Advice" and "Too Blind to See It," the latter climbing to number one on the U.K. charts. Additional tracks drawn from the Too Blind to See It album sustained her presence on those charts through the mid-'90s. After stepping away from the music industry for an extended period, she resurfaced in 1999 with a guest spot on the television program Early Edition, where she performed alongside Busta Rhymes and Tone Loc. In that same year she issued the single "Just Can't Get Enough" and reentered the studio to prepare fresh material scheduled for release in 2000.
