Biography
Originating in Austin, Texas, the hard rock group Lions took shape after vocalist/guitarist Matt Drenik and drummer Jake Perlman watched their prior outfit, the Good Looks, disintegrate midway through a tour during summer 2005. Once they connected with second guitarist/backup vocalist Austin Calman and bassist Trevor Sutcliffe, the band quickly built a following through turbulent, high-intensity concerts and their distorted, rhythm-driven material, before cutting their debut EP, Volume One, ahead of shows at the local SXSW festival in March 2006.
