Mach y Daddy detonated across the reggaeton landscape with explosive immediacy. Their debut single, "La Botella," ascended to the summit of the Mexican charts, after which Central and South America swiftly embraced the track as well. In characteristic reggaeton fashion, this sudden breakthrough propelled the previously unknown act from the margins straight to the upper echelons of the industry. The Panamanian duo Pedro Machore (Mach) and Martin Machore (Daddy) were raised alongside many siblings in several of Panama’s most impoverished districts. Their father, the celebrated Panamanian performer and composer Armando Machore of Calipso Panama, presided over a household saturated with music. From an early age the brothers studied multiple instruments and honed their compositional skills under his tutelage, cultivating a breadth of musical sophistication and flexibility seldom found among reggaeton acts. Their first album, Desde Abajo—translated as “from the bottom”—earned widespread critical approval. The Machore brothers resided in Florida for a period before settling in Los Angeles to work closely with their distributor, the major label Universal Music.
