Biography
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Mortillery operates as a Canadian thrash and punk-metal group with a female vocalist in the front, pulling sonic cues from established heavy music acts that include Judas Priest, Slayer, English Dogs, Metallica, and Iron Maiden. The outfit formed in 2008 and navigated several membership adjustments before locking in its central roster of Cara McCutchen on lead vocals, Alex Gutierrez and Kent Quinlan on guitar, Kevin Gaudet on drums, and Miranda Wolfe on bass. An initial self-titled EP appeared in 2010, setting the stage for the independent arrival of the first full-length effort, Murder Death Kill, in 2011. A worldwide reissue of that debut followed after the band signed with Napalm Records in 2012, and the second studio album, Origin of Extinction, surfaced the year after. The third long-player, Shapeshifter, emerged in 2016.
