Nacho Cano, a musician originating from Spain, first entered the music world through participation in the adolescent outfit Prisma. The keyboardist subsequently teamed up with his sibling José María Cano and vocalist Ana Torroja to form Mecano, which launched its recording career in 1981 via the single “Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar.” Cano initiated songwriting activities in 1983 by penning “Me He Enamorado De Un Fan” for the Madrid act Rubi, and he next took on production duties for the Valencia-based sextet Betty Troupe. He further contributed to the soundtrack of the film Sal Gorda while serving as producer for La Unión’s first album. Following Mecano’s 1992 dissolution, Cano launched a solo trajectory with the Virgin-issued Un Mundo Separado Por El Mismo Dios in 1994; two years afterward came El Lado Femenino, which appeared in English- and French-language editions. Amor Humor surfaced in September 1999, succeeded in 2001 by the self-titled Nacho Cano. These proved to be his final albums for an extended period, after which Cano devoted himself exclusively to composition, creating the stage works Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar and A, both of which achieved major commercial success. He additionally supplied theme music for various nationwide and athletic occasions, among them the 2010 European Athletics Championship staged in Barcelona. Cano later relocated to Miami and established a yoga studio there.
