Biography
Nicho Hinojosa, the Latin troubadour born Dionisio Hinojosa, first took up singing upon turning eight. Exposure to classic rock bands prompted him to play drums in a neighborhood group, after which he broadened into a multi-instrumentalist through training at Monterrey's Escuela Superior de Música y Danza, the renowned Mexican conservatory. In 1993 he entered the collective Guitarras por el Mundo, also known as Guitars around the World, and the ensemble issued both String Five and a self-titled album. The same year Hinojosa launched his solo career with the album Detrás del Horizonte. BMG's Latin division later contracted the artist, leading to the June 2002 release of En el Bar.
