Born in Mexico City during 1965, Fernando Delgadillo embarked on a path as singer and songwriter. His initial steps toward a professional career came in 1986 through involvement with the folk ensemble El Sapo Cancionero. By 1989 he had joined forces with Juan González, Rodrigo Solis, and Gonzalo Ceja to establish the collective Seimus, an acronym for Sociedad de Escritores y Músicos Urbanos Subterráneos. One year afterward, Seimus narrowed to a duo following the departures of Solis and Ceja. Throughout those years Delgadillo issued an untitled cassette on his own, then followed it with La Canción Informal, Recopilaciones, and Variaciones de la Canción Informal. His debut album, Concierto Aire a Tí, appeared in 1992 under the production of José Avila. Subsequent releases included Crónicas de Bruno del Breñal, Derivaciones de la Canción Informal, and the 1995 recording De Vuelos y de Sol. Career recognition brought an invitation to Beijing’s International TV Festival in 1997, followed two years later by participation in La Habana’s Youth International Festival. Also in 1999 he issued Febrero 13, which received its live premiere at Mexico City’s Metropolitan Theater.
