Noctem

Hailing from the port city of Valencia, Noctem formed in 2001 as a Spanish extreme metal outfit steeped in occult themes and myth-building within the black metal genre. For more than twenty years the group has ranked among the area's most prominent metal forces, mounting tours across Europe, Asia, Russia, and North America. Early recordings included the 2002 demo Unholy Blood, the 2007 demo God Among the Slaves, and the 2004 concert album Live 2004, all issued prior to the band's first full-length release, Divinity, in 2009. Subsequent studio albums arrived with the punishing Oblivion in 2011, Exilium in 2014, and Haeresis in 2016. During those years Noctem broadened its reach through major live appearances with fellow extreme metal acts including Marduk, Batushka, Napalm Death, and Immolation. Black Consecration, released in 2019, delivered the ensemble's most resonant collection of blackened death metal to date, a direction the musicians carried deeper still on the dense and unrelenting Credo Certe NE Cras in 2022.
