Biography
Cousins Jessica and Janelle Martinez channel their vocal and movement abilities through the pop duo Prima J. The pair, raised in Rosemead, CA, received early encouragement to perform before relatives and sustained that drive into their teenage years. Singer Nikki Flores arranged their introduction to Stefanie Ridel, a former Wild Orchid member, who subsequently mentored the act and shaped its dance-pop style together with its stage presentation. Following the duo’s signing to Geffen Records, the debut single “Rockstar” appeared on the Bratz motion picture soundtrack in 2007. The group’s full-length eponymous debut arrived the next year.
