Biography
Joe Michelini, a veteran presence in New Jersey’s songwriting community, started assembling a modest acoustic group toward the end of 2007, which led to the creation of River City Extension. What began small soon expanded to an octet able to shift between folk ballads and erratic Gypsy punk without warning. Spring 2010 saw the band support a self-issued EP through touring, ink a deal with XOXO Records—the same imprint that housed fellow New Jersey acts the Gaslight Anthem—and put out their first full-length effort, The Unmistakable Man.
