Ron Kenoly's vocal path opened inside a Baptist congregation in Coffeyville, Kansas, his birthplace. After military duty in the Air Force and years devoted to family life, he scored charting success as a singer in Los Angeles during the early 1970s, yet renewed his Christian commitment in 1975. Kenoly later earned a master's degree in music from the College of Alameda in California and worked as a vocal instructor. Leading praise and worship at a local Pentecostal church brought him to the notice of Integrity Records, which offered a recording contract. His debut album Jesus Is Alive was followed by Lift Him Up, the fastest-selling praise and worship release on record. Both that project and its successor, God Is Able, earned Dove award nominations. He also issued Sing out with One Voice, and cumulative sales crossed the one-million threshold in 1995. Welcome Home arrived in 1996 as his first major-label effort, Majesty came two years afterward, and We Offer Praises appeared in 1999. Dwell In the House reached stores in spring 2001.
