Biography
Street to Nowhere, an Oakland rock band, first came together while its members were still attending high school. Once they graduated, the original lineup disbanded, prompting singer and guitarist Dave Smallen to keep the name active through solo acoustic performances. He later recruited drummer Joey Bustos, formerly of Link 80 and Desa, along with guitarist Will Hauser and bassist Bryce Freeman. The band issued its debut album, Charmingly Awkward, in November 2005. Capitol signed the group in June 2006 and re-released the album several months afterward. Street to Nowhere has appeared on bills with the Format, Gomez, Two Gallants, OK Go, and Reel Big Fish.
