Biography
Formed in 2013 across Zwolle, Amsterdam, and Utrecht, Teethgrinder emerged as a relentless Dutch grindcore outfit drawing from the styles of Nasum, Converge, and Aborted. Guitarist Mart Wijnholds, vocalist Jonathan Edwards, bassist and backing vocalist Jabe Piter Faber, along with drummer Wieger Jan Scheper, established the group. Their initial EP Hellbound appeared soon after inception, paving the way for intense and prominent live shows at clubs and festivals with acts such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Terrorizer, Vader, Enslaved, and Napalm Death. In 2014, they inked a deal with Lifeforce Records and commenced recording their first full-length album. Misanthropy came out the next year in 2015, with the ferocious Nihilism arriving in 2016.
