Biography
Unison group vocals frequently amplify the upbeat, anthemic pop-rock textures and socially conscious lyrics that define the Federal Empire. The project began in Los Angeles when songwriters recruited to compose for other performers decided to form their own group, with founding members consisting of lead singer Chad Wolf from Carolina Liar, McKay Stevens of the Vibrant Sound, and Keith Varon from Angel's Landing. Their debut EP, The American Dream, arrived in 2016 and paved the way for partnerships with EDM acts such as Martin Garrix and Sam Feldt.
Prominent streaming playlists embraced early singles like "The American Dream," which prompted the trio to issue the full EP The American Dream in late 2016. Around the same period they joined Martin Garrix on the single "Hold On & Believe." Mid-2017 brought a remix EP containing "The American Dream" in versions by Casualkimono and Lux Pacific. Further streaming traction arrived that year with "Shot by My Own Gun," the Sam Feldt collaboration that accumulated millions of plays.
Once Varon exited the lineup, the remaining duo secured a contract with Sumerian Records in 2018. Their second EP, I Never Liked Your Friends, which again featured "The American Dream," surfaced in mid-2019.
