Biography
Guitarist Abdullah Al Mu'min launched the progressive extreme metal act HAARP Machine in 2007 and situated the project in the U.K. Taking cues from outfits such as Periphery and Veil of Maya, the ensemble fuses visceral force with exacting instrumental skill, yielding a style equally ferocious and far-reaching. Although Al Mu'min first shaped the music through solitary home recordings, he subsequently enlisted vocalist Michael Semesky, bassist Oliver Rooney, and drummer Alex Rüdinger, converting the effort from an isolated undertaking into a road-ready unit. The resulting activity drew interest from Sumerian Records, which issued the group’s first album, Disclosure, in 2012.
