Biography
Originating from Rathdrum, Idaho, the Ongoing Concept assembled in 2010 as an eclectic, progressive Christian metalcore group built around the abilities of brothers Dawson, Kyle, and Parker Scholz together with their longtime associate TJ Nichols. The four-piece launched their activities during the members’ high-school years. Their initial outing, the 2011 EP Arrows Before Bullets, secured a contract with Solid State Records, which issued the band’s first studio album, the Wild West-themed Saloon, in 2013. That release drew favorable notices and reached number 38 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Handmade, the group’s second full-length effort, appeared in 2015 and earned heightened praise for the quartet’s expert execution and original songcraft. Fronted by the charged single “The Print,” Places arrived as their third LP in late 2017.
