Biography
Christian metalcore outfit MyChildren MyBride first assembled while its members were still attending high school in northern Alabama during the early 2000s. Amid academic demands, the group issued the 2004 album Having the Heart for War and arranged a short tour over spring break 2005. Additional self-released EPs surfaced periodically as the band booked shows whenever schedules allowed, eventually encompassing a European run and more than 250 performances throughout 2007, at which point MyChildren MyBride secured a contract with Solid State Records. Personnel shifts occurred regularly—the act even operated as a quartet for two years—and the October 2007 roster that joined the label featured vocalist Matthew Hasting, drummer Brian Hood, guitarists Kyle Ray and Robert Bloomfield, and bassist Joe Lengson.
The ensemble’s ferocious Solid State debut Unbreakable arrived in late February 2008, prompting touring support slots alongside Unearth and Bury Your Dead. MyChildren MyBride resurfaced in summer 2010 with the sophomore LP Lost Boy, which they backed via an extensive North American trek and a headlining jaunt through Australia. Teaming with producer Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed) in Massachusetts, the group finished its third and last Solid State release, a self-titled album issued in spring 2012. By the time the band aligned with eOne/Good Fight Music, only core members Hasting and Bloomfield remained. Over the ensuing years the pair collaborated with producer and From First to Last guitarist Travis Richter to shape their fifth album, Vicious World, which finally emerged in October 2017.
