Biography
In 1999 Catholic school friends Nick Martin on vocals and Matt Johnson on guitar launched Underminded in San Diego, California. Early exposure to area acts including Rocket from the Crypt and Drive Like Jehu shaped their sound and led to the 2004 arrival of debut album Hail Unamerican!, by which time bassist Brandon Caldwell and drummer Tanner Wayne had joined to form the quartet that spent the ensuing two years on self-booked tours and Warped Tour dates. Uprising Records issued the group’s second album, Eleven: Eleven, in 2007.
