Vicious Clay serves as the rock and roll vehicle for New York–based musician Vinny Silva, moving fluidly across grunge, garage, blues, and alternative rock to produce a sound at once primal and enduring. Silva handles every instrument in the studio on his own—guitars, bass, drums, and vocals alike—crafting densely layered, guitar-centric tracks that draw from classic rock foundations while incorporating contemporary indie drive.

A Brazilian-born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Vinny has logged more than twenty years of recording, touring, and collaborative work across numerous endeavors. These efforts encompass partnerships with Amy Allen, Tyler Ballgame, The Velvicks and others, along with sessions at Studio 606, Power Station (formerly Avatar), and Studio G Brooklyn.

Silva launched the project in 2018 by entering a raw Greenpoint facility with six songs and tracking every element personally, which formed the foundation for the self-titled debut EP that arrived in 2020. Subsequent Vicious Clay material has accumulated thousands of streams alongside attention from NY Slice (WFUV 90.7 FM), United Masters, Last Day Deaf, Cage Riot, End Sessions, UnRecorded, and The Other Side. The band’s most recent album, bleecker street revisited, balances rawness with polished execution, delivering explosive yet introspective material that remains both beautiful and grungy. The group will perform at forthcoming live dates, with additional releases planned before the close of 2026.
