VOUS Worship

Vous Worship serves as the musical arm of Miami’s evangelical megachurch Vous Church, bringing together a multicultural roster of composers, instrumentalists, and vocalists who draw from an expansive palette of genres. The youth-focused congregation itself was launched in 2015 by Pastor Rich Wilkerson, Jr. and his wife DawnCheré as an offshoot of Trinity, the larger Miami church then led by Wilkerson’s father, Rich Sr.—a relative of David Wilkerson, author of the bestselling book The Cross and the Switchblade. Pastor Rich had already risen to wider notice the year before by presiding over the wedding of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, an event that prompted the reality series Rich in Faith and helped the church court young attendees through its embrace of celebrity culture and mainstream visibility.

The worship collective operated as a fluid ensemble that could swell to twenty participants, yet revolved around a stable nucleus of songwriters that at various points included Aodhán King, Luke Barry, Zach Freeman, Michael Fatkin, and the Wilkersons. Their output fused classic CCM forms and pop-rock arrangements with soul and Latin influences, frequently augmented by strings, while delivering emotionally charged, bilingual anthems in English and Spanish. Over time the group issued a series of digital singles along with five complete albums, among them Avivamiento in 2021 and I Met Jesus in Miami in 2022.
