Biography
Formed under the innocuous moniker Watch Them Die in Oakland, CA, during 2000, the group drew on its members’ collective experience from prior bands such as Buzzov-en, Grimple, World Salad, and Ojorojo. Their command of punk, thrash, grind, and the most extreme strains of heavy metal propelled an immediate commitment to sonic destruction right from the first note. Vocalist Pat Vigil, guitarists Jase and Greg Valencia, drummer Ira, and bassist Pat Mello entered a recording contract with Century Media in 2002 before joining forces on national tours with tough guys like High on Fire and Impaled. Century then released WTD’s punishing self-titled debut in October 2003.
