Biography
Formed in New York City, A Storm of Light took shape under vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist Josh Graham, whose prior affiliations included the post-rock ensemble Red Sparowes, the project Battle of Mice, and an extended role as visual artist with Neurosis. Those connections made it natural for Graham, bassist Domenic Seita, and drummers Vinnie Signorelli and Pete Angevice to pursue broad, atmospheric, and lightly industrial post-metal textures on the group’s 2008 debut album for Neurot Recordings, And We Wept the Black Ocean Within. A split effort with the Canadian duo Nadja, titled Primitive North, appeared shortly afterward, while 2009 brought the band’s second album, Forgive Us Our Trespasses, which introduced drummer Andy Rice, formerly of Sinking Ships.
