Biography
The contemporary Christian ensemble All Together Separate is built around guitarist Andrew Shirley, drummer Ben Rayls, and vocalist Dex Alexander. The three musicians first crossed paths at a Christian college, where they started shaping a sound that fuses funk, blues, and rock. In addition to directing winter and summer bible study camps plus Student Leadership Conferences, All Together Separate issued its self-titled debut album on Ardent Records in 1999, with the live set Ardent Worship Live arriving the following year. Shirley began appearing as a touring member of Switchfoot in 2003 and later became a permanent addition to the band.
