Biography
A Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who comfortably finds the seams between indie pop, folk, and country, Annika Bennett cut her teeth as a co-writer for other pop artists like Madeline the Person, Chappell Roan, and Walk Off the Earth. Concurrently, she released a series of solo EPs like 2021's Only Emotion and 2023's Madwoman ahead of her 2024 debut album, Live from Mother Earth.
Bennett spent early parts of her career in New York and Nashville before returning home to Los Angeles and signing a publishing deal with the company Supperreal in 2021. That same year, she released her first EP, Only Emotion, introducing fans to her warmly textured folk-pop style. She also continued working as a co-writer with artists like Goody Grace, Catie Turner, and Gnash. Over the next two years, Bennett worked in both lanes, writing songs with others and delivering solo EPs like 2022's Room (Demos) and 2023's Madwoman, which featured the standout single "Universe." Also in 2023, she co-wrote the song "Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl" for Chappell Roan's hit album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The increased exposure from both her songwriting and solo career set the table for Bennett's debut album, Live from Mother Earth, which she released in October 2024.
